Woman and Pedestrian Injured in Alleged Road Rage in Modesto
MODESTO (May 29, 2018) – On May 24, Thursday, a woman was injured after being allegedly intentionally struck by a drunken driver on Wilton Place.
According to Modesto Bee, the road rage began in the area of Shawnee Drive, which intersects Standiford Avenue west of Carver Road.
Mike Hunty was reportedly traveling in the area when he encountered another motorist who was swerving, and driving eratically. Hunty then went around the motorist and continued driving home.
The other motorist, identified as 50-year-old Christopher Carazo, apparently followed Hunty and the two drivers got into a verbal altercation. At the same time, the fiancee of Hunty walked in front of Carazo’s vehicle and took photos of him.
The suspect then accelerated his vehicle and hit the woman. As per the article, Carazo dragged the woman about 30 or 35 feet before he stopped and evaded the scene.
Medical records indicated the fiancee of Hunty suffered abrasions and cuts to her face. Her condition at this time have not been updated thus far.
Officials mentioned Carazo crashed into a parked vehicle while fleeing. The parked vehicle was pushed, and hit a nearby pedestrian. The innocent pedestrian sustained a broken leg, and other minor injuries as a result of the collision.

Shortly after the incident, Carazo was arrested and reportedly faces felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon, DUI causing bodily injury, hit-and-run, and battery.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
