Boy, 11, Hit and Injured by Car in Modesto Thursday
MODESTO (September 27, 2018) – A child was injured after a traffic accident in the area of East Rumble and Highgate roads on Thursday morning, according to The Modesto Bee.
The collision took place at about 7:48 at the rear of the Somerset Middle School campus.
As per the article, Modesto police said an 11-year-old boy was crossing Rumble Road at Highgate Road when he was hit by a black Chevrolet pickup truck.
The juvenile suffered minor injuries including scrapes and bruises as a result of the incident. His name and condition at this time remained unknown, but officials confirmed that he was a student at Somerset.
Meanwhile, the male driver of the pickup told the police that he failed to see the boy because of the sun. He was unable to stop and struck the victim who was in a crosswalk at the time.
The collision is still under investigation.
