Woman, 48, Fatally Injured in Crash on McHenry Avenue
MODESTO, Calif. (Sept. 19, 2023) – A fatal Modesto pedestrian accident happened Sunday night on McHenry Avenue near Bowen Avenue.
The deadly crash occurred about 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 17th in Stanislaus County, according to the Modesto Police Department.
A driver traveling southbound on McHenry Avenue in a Saturn reportedly struck the 48-year-old woman as she was crossing McHenry Avenue in a crosswalk, according to CBS News.
The woman suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old driver of the Saturn stopped his or her vehicle and cooperated with the investigation by the Modesto Police Department.
Authorities closed down McHenry Avenue between Bowen and Tokay avenues to conduct the investigation.
The case remains under investigation to determine fault for the fatal pedestrian accident on McHenry Avenue in Modesto. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
