MODESTO, California (July 12, 2016) – A deadly traffic collision took place on Highway 99 Tuesday evening, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
CHP first logged the incident when a female pedestrian was struck by a white Honda pickup truck at 6:47 p.m. The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near Crows Landing Road on-ramp.
As per the report log, fire department personnel along with the paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed that the victim suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The name of the deceased has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the dispatch mentioned that the driver involved pulled over to the right hand shoulder after the collision.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
