Man Hit and Injured by Vehicle Near Proteus Road Friday
Mojave, CA (March 4, 2022) – A pedestrian suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on State Route 58, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Earlier reports indicated a vehicle struck an individual in the westbound side of the highway near Proteus Road. After the collision, the motorist apparently continued driving.
The CHP logged the case Friday around 6:30 p.m.
When rescue teams arrived, they found a woman pulling out a man out of the roadway. Our sources mentioned the male pedestrian ended up lying on the traffic lanes after being hit by a vehicle. The name of the injured party, and their condition at this time have not been discussed thus far.

Meanwhile, authorities said the driver involved in the collision fled the scene. Detectives continue to work at this time to identify the hit-and-run suspect.
