MOJAVE, California (February 24, 2017) – Six were hospitalized after a traffic collision in the area of Tehachapi Willow Springs and Backus roads Friday afternoon, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
CHP said a blue 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and another vehicle collided about 2:26 p.m.
As per the report log, Kern County Fire Department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and took five people to the hospital for treatment.
The dispatch indicated that Michael Meredith, 67; and Noel Releford, 36, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Antelope Valley Hospital with9-year-old Lorelai Releford and 11-year-old Austin Releford. Two other unidentified patients were transported as precaution.
Meanwhile, CHP added that a horse trailer was involved in the accident which damaged a pole near the intersection.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
