Major Collision on US 395, SR-158 in June Lake, Calif.
JUNE LAKE, Calif. (August 2, 2024) — Roughly 10 people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on US Highway 395 at the June Lake Loop in June Lake.
The collision occurred on the southbound side of Eastern Sierra Scenic Byway (US 395) at SR-158 (June Lake Loop) at around 12 p.m. on August 2nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a black Ford F-150 pickup truck and a Ford Expedition SUV were involved. CHP officials reported multiple people were trapped inside a pickup truck.
A witness told CHP officials it was a “very high-speed traffic collision,” the report said.
Paramedics are on the scene helping at least 10 people with injuries. Several helicopters transported the most seriously injured to a trauma center and multiple ambulances took patients to Mammoth Hospital.
Adrian Longino, 15, was critically injured and air-lifted to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, according to his family’s Gofundme page. He underwent several surgeries and remains hospitalized.
At least five young people were among the injured including Longino. They were also Mammoth High School students and football teammates.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the June Lake crash on US Highway 395.
