Motorcyclist Injured in Montebello Hit-and-Run Crash on Garfield Avenue
MONTEBELLO, CA (January 20, 2022) – A motorcyclist was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Garfield Avenue in Montebello.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Thursday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 5:17 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle possibly struck the motorcycle rider for an unknown reason in Montebello. The two crashed at 876 North Garfield Avenue.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Montebello Country Club. They found the motorcyclist hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel treated the victim for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the wreck. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to help the rider and then fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Garfield Avenue to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Montebello hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
