3 Injured in Montecito Crash pn Highway 101 Near Sheffield Drive

MONTECITO, CA (May 26, 2023) – Several were injured after a crash on Highway 101 near Sheffield Drive in Montecito.

According to an article published by the KEYT News, the accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on May 22 at about 12:56 p.m. 

The incident happened when multiple vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Montecito. The California Highway Patrol said eight cars crashed on northbound Highway 101 near Sheffield Drive.

8 Cars Collide

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found a total of three people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patients for the minor injuries they sustained upon impact. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP forced the No. 1 Lane of northbound Highway 101 to shut down near Sheffield following the wreck. The cause of the Montecito crash is still under investigation.
