Motorcyclist Killed in Molera Road Crash Near Highway 1
MONTEREY COUNTY (August 7, 2018) – A deadly traffic collision occurred Sunday afternoon on Molera Road, according to the Mercury News.
The accident happened at 1:30 p.m. just west of Highway 1.
As per the article, 27-year-old Noemi Sanchez, of Salinas, was driving a 1999 GMC Suburban in the same direction ahead of the motorcycle. The Suburban reportedly slowed down to attempt a left turn, when the motorcyclist passed on the left as the vehicle began its turn.

Officials believed the rider veered right to avoid the GMC Suburban, but the motorcyclist ended up hitting the rear of the vehicle.
Medical records indicated the motorcycle rider suffered fatal trauma as a result of the collision. At this time, the name of the deceased remained undisclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned Sanchez was traveling with an adult passenger, and four juveniles at the time of the incident. All parties occupying the GMC Suburban were unharmed in the wreck.
