Major Injury Crash South of King City on Highway 101

 Monterey County Hit-and-run Crash Highway 101, Near Welby, King City (July 19) MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (July 19, 2021) — A Monterey County hit-and-run crash Monday afternoon on Highway 101, just south of Welby and King City.

The Highway 101 hit-and-run crash happened about 2:27 p.m. on July 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP reported the Monterey County crash happened in the southbound lanes of the highway near Welby.

A driver in a blue Chrysler Pacifica suffered major injuries in the collision. The vehicle overturned near the median after being struck by a white vehicle whose driver fled the crash scene.

Additionally, paramedics responded to transport the injured to a hospital. Also, authorities seek to locate the suspect driver who fled without stopping to help the victim.

Meanwhile, the cause of the Monterey County hit-and-run crash and liability remains under investigation.
