Bicyclist Injured in Monterey Park Hit-and-Run Near Atlantic and Brightwood
MONTEREY PARK, CA (August 27, 2021) – A bicyclist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash at Atlantic Boulevard and Brightwood Street in Monterey Park.
According to an article published by the Pasadena Star News, the accident took place on Sunday. Officers reported the collision on August 22 at around 12:12 a.m.
The incident happened when the bicycle rider was traveling near the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Brightwood Street in Monterey Park. At the same time, a vehicle was going south on Atlantic.
Police said for an unknown reason, the driver then hit the cyclist. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the rider left wounded as a result of the collision.
Bicycle Rider Hit by Car
Medical personnel soon took the victim to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries they sustained in the accident. Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help and fled the area. They described the car as either a white Toyota Sequoia or a white Toyota Tundra.
The vehicle, possibly with a camper shell over the truck bed, obtained damage to the front end on the passenger’s side. The Monterey Park hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the area of Atlantic and Brightwood to shut down for a time following the collision. Anyone with information can call the police at 626-307-1238.
