The collision occurred about 3:45 a.m. near Garfield Avenue.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 2012 Hyundai struck the center divider and was found disabled in the No. 1 and 2 lanes.
A passenger in the Hyundai, a Eugenia Zavaleta, 25, of Los Angeles, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 27-year-old Walnut woman, was reportedly in and out of consciousness following the wreck. She was transported to a hospital with injuries described as major.
She was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and gross vehicular manslaughter.
