2 Killed, 6 Injured in Monterey Park Crash Near Market Place and Potrero Grande
MONTEREY PARK, CA (December 6, 2022) – A car crash killed two people and injured several others near Market Place Drive and Potrero Grande Drive in Monterey Park.
According to an article published by the CBS Los Angeles, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 3 p.m.
The Monterey Park Fire Department said multiple vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city. The cars crashed near the intersection of Market Place and Potrero Grande drives.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters then arrived at the scene and found a total of eight people hurt. At least two of them sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics rushed five of the victims to the hospital, where two of them soon died. Medical personnel at the site provided aid to three other individuals who declined further treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Market Place and Potrero Grande drives to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Monterey Park crash is still under investigation.
