Mother, Child Airlifted to Hospital After Collision Near Balcom Canyon Road
Moorpark, CA (April 21, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 118 Thursday evening.
The Ventura County Star News reported two vehicles collided head-on on SR-118 near Balcom Canyon Road. Officials mentioned the crash took place between Somis and Moorpark.
Shortly after 5 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found a Ford Expedition SUV and a Mazda sedan both with major front-end damage. Two tow truck were reportedly requested to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene.
3 Hospitalized After Major Car Accident on Highway 118 in Moorpark
Medical personnel found as many as three people with injuries. According to the article published online, a mother and her baby sustained serious injuries in the collision. Given their condition, a Copter 6 airlifted the patients to Los Robles Regional Medical Center.
Authorities added the third victim suffered major trauma as a result of the wreck. A land ambulance rushed the patient to Adventist Health Simi Valley hospital for treatment.
At this time, the names of the people hurt remained undisclosed.
Detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the car accident on Highway 118 in Moorpark.
