2 Killed, 1 Injured in Moorpark Crash at Grimes Canyon and Meadowglade
MOORPARK, CA (November 15, 2021) – A head-on crash killed two people and injured two others at Grimes Canyon Road and Meadowglade Drive in Moorpark.
The California Highway Patrol said a Peterbilt semi-truck pulling a dump trailer and a Toyota sedan collided head-on for an unknown reason.
The two crashed on Grimes Canyon Road at the intersection with Meadowglade Drive. Both vehicles then caught fire due to the impact.
Semi-Truck and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. CHP confirmed that two people riding the car died as a result of the collision. The third occupant of the Toyota sustained major injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck survived with minor injuries. Medical personnel took both patients to a hospital for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that speed played a role in the incident. Officers forced Grimes Canyon Road to shut down for hours following the wreck.
The fatal Moorpark crash is still under investigation.
