MORENO VALLEY, California (June 4, 2015) — A 5-year-old girl was killed when an SUV whose driver was swerving all over the road crashed head-on into two other drivers on Gilman Springs Road at Bridge Street, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
Five people were hurt in the crash including the little girl who suffered major injuries and and later died at 8:57 a.m. Two others suffered moderate injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Firefighters treated two with minor injuries at the scene, according to a report by the Riverside County Fire Department.
Valenzuela Jalissa, 5, of San Jacinto has been identified as the victim killed in this morning’s crash. She was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center where she died.
The crash was reported about 8:03 a.m. between a tan or gold SUV and a white Toyota Tundra full size pickup truck and a second white vehicle. The SUV struck the the two vehicles head on causing one person to become trapped in the pickup truck.
“The gold or tan SUV was swerving all over prior to the traffic collision,” the CHP said in its report. “The vehicle went out of control and hit a white vehicle and then hit the white truck.”
Paramedics responded to transport those who were injured in the crash to a local hospital. Police are investigating the fatal crash and will issue a report with their findings.
