Sheriff’s Patrol SUV Hits, Kills Pedestrian
MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (May 25, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident involving a Riverside County Sheriff’s patrol SUV happened Thursday at Cactus Avenue and Heacock Street near March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley.
The traffic accident occurred around 4:04 a.m. on May 25th, near the entrance to the air base, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The unidentified pedestrian was reportedly crossing Cactus Avenue in an area where there is no marked crosswalk. The oncoming sheriff’s patrol vehicle hit the person in the roadway.
Paramedics responded, but the pedestrian died at the scene.
The CHP is heading up the investigation into liability for the Moreno Valley pedestrian accident.
