MORENO VALLEY: Man, 21, Killed, Teenager Injured in Solo Crash on Ironwood Avenue
MORENO VALLEY, California (December 1, 2014) — Bill Thavixay, 21, of Perris, was killed and his 19-year-old passenger critically injured Saturday morning in a solo-vehicle crash in the 26300 block of Ironwood Avenue, according to press releases issued by the Riverside County Sheriff’s and Coroner departments.
The traffic accident was reported about 6:24 a.m. The Moreno Valley Police Department responded to the crash involving a silver Honda Accord that struck a palm tree. Both the driver and passenger became trapped in the vehicle and required extrication by emergency workers at the scene. The driver, identified as Thavixay, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramedics rushed the passenger by ambulance to a regional medical center where they are being treated for life-threatening injuries, but are expected to survive.
The Moreno Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team is heading up an investigation into the traffic accident to determine how it happened. The team closed down Ironwood Avenue between Avocado Lane and Vista De Cerros Drive from 6:24 a.m. to 1 p.m..
