MORENO VALLEY, California (March 25, 2016) — A motorcyclist reportedly struck a large pot hole and crashed Friday morning on the northbound Interstate 215 Freeway, just south of Box Springs Road, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The 6:43 a.m. crash took place in the middle lanes. A semi-tractor trailer truck pulled over and stopped following the crash to help the rider. Paramedics with the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department responded to help the injured motorcyclist.
The report stated there was a pothole in the No. 4 lane roughly 10 feet long by two feet wide that required repair and alerted Caltrans to the problem.
“A massive pothole such as this is a dangerous condition that should have been repaired,” said Attorney James Johnson. “I hope this rider is not significantly injured in this crash and they get the best medical care available for a full recovery.”
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and will determine liability.
