MORENO VALLEY: Patricia Blanco, 25, Killed in Head-on Crash on Gilman Springs Road

MORENO VALLEY, California (December 19, 2014) – Patricia Blanco, 25, of Moreno Valley has died Wednesday, just three days after being critically injured in a car accident on westbound Gilman Springs Road near the Quail Ranch Golf Club, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.

Blanco passed away at 3 p.m. at Riverside County Regional Medical Center. She is the second person to die as a result of the crash. A 29-year-old man who was traveling in a Honda Civic died at the scene of Sunday’s the head-on crash with a red Honda Accord. Two others suffered major injuries and were hospitalized and two were not injured.

Cal Fire/Riverside Fire responded to the crash and extricated two people who were stuck in the vehicles.

The CHP’s San Gorgonio division is investigating the crash to determine liability. So far it has been determined that one of the drivers veered across the center divider and hit the other vehicle.

“This is a tragedy for the families of the two people who died in this crash,” said Attorney James Johnson. “I’m hopeful that those who were injured pull through with a full recovery.”
