2 Injured in Morgan Hill Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 101 Near Cochrane
MORGAN HILL, CA (September 6, 2021) – Two were injured after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 near Cochrane Road in Morgan Hill.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck on September 4 at about 5:25 a.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle sideswiped another car for an unknown reason in Morgan Hill. The two crashed on southbound on Highway 101, just south of Cochrane Road.
Driver Sideswipes Another Car, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found two people riding the sideswiped vehicle who complained of pain as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to both patients for the minor injuries they sustained in the incident. Officials did not release their names and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver who caused the collision did not stop to help the victims and fled the area. The cause of the Morgan Hill hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 101 near Cochrane Road to shut down for a time following the wreck.
