1 Seriously Injured in Morongo Valley Crash at Highway 62 and Sundown Trail
MORONGO VALLEY (August 6, 2020) – A traffic collision in the area of Highway 62 and Sundown Trail seriously injured at least one person early Thursday.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, officers received a call about the 2-car accident at around 12:28 a.m.
CHP said a Kia Sorento and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason at the intersection of Highway 62 and Sundown Trail.
Their report log indicated that one of the cars involved went 150 feet off the road as a result of the crash.

Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to one occupant of the Kia who suffered major injuries upon impact.
Medical personnel took the patient, who initially complained of back pain, to the hospital for treatment. The name and condition of the wounded party at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP first logged the incident as a hit-and-run, but officers have not confirmed it yet. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
