Cyclist Fatally Hit by Box Truck on Highway 1
Moss Beach, CA (September 28, 2022) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Highway 1 and Cypress Avenue.
The East Bay Times News reported a box truck was traveling south on SR-1 Wednesday morning. For reasons still unclear, the driver allowed the truck to drift into the northbound side of the highway. Officials said the truck continued driving into the wrong direction and ended up hitting a bicyclist riding on the shoulder of SR-1. The horrible crash took place near Cypress Avenue.
Deadly Bicycle Accident in Moss Beach
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found the cyclist suffering in serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts performed by medical personnel, the victim sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Authorities only identified the deceased as a male in his 40s.
Meanwhile, the truck driver reportedly sustained minor injuries in the wreck. An ambulance transported the injured driver to the hospital for further treatment.
Detectives continue to investigate at this time the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on Highway 1 in Moss Beach.
