SAN BERNARDINO, California (September 2, 2014) – Gilda Patricia Galvan, 40, of San Bernardino, killed and her 4-year-old daughter injured Saturday night when the two were struck by a driver in the 600 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue, according to news reports and a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
About 8:55 p.m., Galvan and her daughter were walking westbound across Mt. Vernon when a northbound driver struck the two pedestrians, according to the coroner and news reports. Paramedics rushed them to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, but Galvan died of her injuries about 9:36 p.m.
The San Bernardino Police Department is heading up an investigation into the fatal crash to determine liability.
