Motorcycle Crash on SB 55 Near Katella Ave Causes Traffic Disruptions
ORANGE, CA (March 12, 2025) – A motorcycle accident caused traffic delays Wednesday morning on the southbound Costa Mesa 55 Freeway near Katella Avenue in Orange.
The two-vehicle collision, involving a black sports motorcycle and a blue Honda Civic, occurred at approximately 7:45 AM on March 12th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the motorcycle rider went down in the slow lane, with debris scattered across all lanes.
Paramedics, along with police, responded to the scene to attend to those injured in the crash.
The crash resulted in a partial blockage of the slow lane, but tow services were called to remove the motorcycle from the roadway.
Finally, the cause of the collision and liability remains under investigation. Drivers are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes as the area is cleared.
