Motorcycle Versus Mazda Prompts SigAlert on SR-22
GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2022) — A motorcycle accident on the eastbound Garden Grove (22) Freeway happened Thursday morning near Harbor Boulevard.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 7:54 a.m. on Sept. 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the rider went down in the No. 1 lane after being hit by a gray Mazda. The bike blocked the No. 1 traffic lane and the rider wound up in the center divider and was not moving, the report said.
The Orange County Fire Authority responded with an ambulance to help the motorcycle rider who suffered minor injuries.
It’s unknown if they transported the person to a hospital or just treated at the scene.
Meanwhile, the CHP issued a SigAlert for roughly an hour after the collision due to the HOV and No. 1 lanes being blocked by emergency responders and vehicles.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision.
