Motorcycle Accident Highway 101, Near Dunne Avenue, Morgan Hill

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif., (August 7, 2026) — A major injury motorcycle accident involving multiple vehicles occurred early Friday morning on US Highway 101 North, just south of East Dunne Avenue in Morgan Hill.

The incident was reported on August 7th at approximately 6:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision involved a motorcycle and a beige Hyundai Accent. Initial reports indicated that a solo motorcycle had collided with a truck, resulting in significant injuries to the motorcyclist.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. The lanes on the northbound side of the highway were affected, with lanes one, two, and three blocked off temporarily to facilitate emergency operations. The lanes were reopened later in the morning as the situation was brought under control.

The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released, reportedly sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the Hyundai Accent remained at the scene and was attempting to assist the injured rider.

The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances that led to this collision. They are requesting any witnesses to come forward with information that could aid in their investigation.
