3-Vehicle Crash on I-405 Freeway in Costa Mesa

COSTA MESA, Calif. (March 28, 2024) — Two cars and a motorcycle were involved in a traffic accident Thursday morning on the southbound 405 Freeway at the Costa Mesa 55 Freeway.

The multi-vehicle collision occurred at around 7:34 a.m. on March 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the motorcyclist collided with a black Kia Sportage and a white sedan in the HOV and No. 1 lanes of the freeway.

The rider went down in traffic lanes and someone called for paramedics.

The Costa Mesa Fire Department responded to the scene to help the injured rider, but there are no further details at this time.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the motorcycle accident on the 405 Freeway.
