Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on I-5 Freeway

COMMERCE, Calif. (Jan. 17, 2024) — A motorcycle rider was injured in a car accident Wednesday morning on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of Garfield Avenue in Commerce.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 6:17 a.m. on Jan. 17th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a black Toyota Camry sedan collided with the motorcyclist due to unknown circumstances. The rider went down in the No. 3 lane of the I-5 Freeway and sustained injuries.

Paramedics responded to help the injured motorcycle rider, but there are no further details.

Police issued a SigAlert for the collision due to several lanes being blocked and a tow truck removed the damaged motorcycle from the roadway.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the motorcycle accident on the 5 Freeway in Commerce.
