Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-and-run Crash on I-580 Freeway
ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2021) — A motorcycle accident on the Interstate 580 Freeway happened Friday morning at the Grant Line Road off ramp.
The collision took place about 6:29 a.m. on Nov. 5th on the Alameda County freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A dark SUV, a light blue or gray sedan and the motorcyclist collided in the No. 2 lane, police said.
One motorist stated they didn’t notice the rider. The motorcyclist had complaints of pain to their right leg after the crash. The Alameda County Fire Department sent paramedics to the scene where they located the injured rider who was conscious and breathing.
Additionally, one motorist, possibly the SUV, fled the scene without stopping to help the injured rider as required under California law.
Meanwhile, investigators are seeking to determine the cause of the motorcycle accident on the Interstate 580.
