Major Injury Motorcycle Crash on State Route 1

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2023) — A motorcycle accident happened Friday morning on Cabrillo Highway (State Route 1), near the Imjin Parkway off ramp in Marina.

The two-vehicle collision occurred on the northbound SR-1 at around 7:44 a.m. on Dec. 1st in Monterey County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the rider went down in traffic lanes after colliding with a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The Marina police and fire departments responded to the scene and located the injured motorcyclist who was conscious and breathing, but suffering major injuries.

The person was transported to a hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, a tow truck removed the damaged motorcycle from the roadway.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the motorcycle accident on Cabrillo Highway 1.
