A forensic examination of all the motorcycles and the car involved, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine which party ultimately caused the accident. Authorities will thoroughly look into how fast each party was going, whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved, whether or not there were any mechanical issues with either vehicle, and whether or not one of the drivers involved was distracted or did not yield to the right of way motorist. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the bikes and the vehicle such as point of impact, their final resting positions, skid marks, and gouge marks.
Victims of a traffic collision have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the negligent individual, seeking a compensation for all the hospital bills, future medical expenses, lost wages, property damage and other losses.
