Motorcycle Accident on Santa Monica 10 Freeway, Bundy Drive in Los Angeles

Motorcyclist Versus Ford Bronco on I-10 Freeway

LOS ANGELES (May 5, 2026) — A motorcycle rider was injured Tuesday morning in a collision with an SUV on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway near the Bundy Drive off-ramp in Los Angeles, prompting lane closures and a multi-agency response.

The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team around 10 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway. Initial reports indicated a motorcycle rider down in the roadway following a collision with a sport utility vehicle, later identified as a Ford Bronco.

Authorities said the impact blocked multiple lanes, including the right lanes, and at one point up to two or three lanes, causing significant traffic delays in the area. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the scene to assist the injured rider.

By about 10:07 a.m., the motorcyclist was reported to be conscious and able to stand, and was expected to be transported to a hospital for further evaluation.

Tow services were requested to remove the damaged vehicles, and crews worked to clear the scene. The California Highway Patrol closed out the incident shortly before 11:30 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No additional details about the extent of injuries or identities involved were immediately available.
