Pickup, Motorcycle Crash San Ysidro and Cottonwood
The collision was reported at 5:19 p.m. at Cottonwood Road. The 57-year-old driver of a Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling eastbound on W. San Ysidro Boulevard when he turned left in front of the westbound motorcyclist’s Honda 250R bike.
The 34-year-old man riding the motorcycle crashed into the Dodge. Paramedics responded and rushed the motorcycle rider to a hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Police investigating the crash determined that alcohol was not a factor.
San Diego County Accident Investigation
At this time, it appears that the pickup truck driver violated the right-of-way of the motorcyclist by turning into his path. Police will determine whether or not criminal charges should be filed against the driver at fault.
Meanwhile, the motorcyclist has grounds for a personal injury claim to recoup financial losses due to his medical bills, lost time off work, property damage and more.
