Motorcycle Crash 405 Freeway at Sherman Way in Van Nuys
Lyft Driver, Motorcyclist Collide in Fast Lane on 405 Freeway
VAN NUYS, Calif. (Feb. 19, 2025) — A motorcycle crash involving a Lyft driver happened Wednesday on the southbound 405 Freeway, just north of Sherman Way in Van Nuys, Calif.
The traffic accident occurred in southbound lanes around 9:39 a.m. on Feb. 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver working for Lyft rideshare service was attempting to merge out of the HOV lane into the fast lane when it collided with an oncoming motorcyclist.
The rider went down in the fast lane of the freeway and suffered undisclosed injuries.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to help the injured rider, but there are no further details.
Meanwhile, several vehicles stopped after the collision including a white pickup truck, a yellow Jeep, and the victim’s mother in a black BMW.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the motorcycle accident on the 405 Freeway in Van Nuys.
