Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on Empire Grad in the Santa Cruz Area
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (August 18, 2022) — A major-injury Santa Cruz motorcycle accident happened Thursday morning at Empire Grade and Chinquapin Road.
The collision occurred about 10:33 a.m. on August 18th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported it was a “high-speed” crash involving a motorcyclist and possibly another motorist. The rider suffered major injuries including a broken arm and road rash, the report said.
However, the motorcyclist was conscious and breathing following the crash.
Paramedics responded to the scene and requested an air ambulance to transport the injured rider to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The report did not mention how many other vehicles were involved or if road conditions were a factor in the crash.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash.
