Motorcyclist Hurt in Crash Near on I-5 Near Gorman Hungry Valley

Motorcycle Hit-and-run Crash Interstate 5 Freeway, Smokey Bear Road in Lebec (June 28) LEBEC, Calif. (June 28, 2021) — A motorcycle hit-and-run crash happened today on the Interstate 5 Freeway at Smokey Bear Road in Lebec.

The collision took place about 1:48 p.m. on June 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A driver in a red 2005 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck reportedly struck the victim’s motorcycle and fled the scene without stopping to help the person or exchange insurance information.

Motorcycle Rider Injured in Lebec Hit-and-run Crash

Los Angeles County Fire responded to help the conscious motorcycle rider who was laying on the ground in the center divider.  The motorcycle rider broke his or her right leg and suffered road rash.

A witness gave authorities the suspect vehicle’s license plate number. Police confirmed the registered owner’s name is Sergio Hernandez Fernandez Paulo. It’s unknown if this is the man who was driving the pickup truck or if it was someone else.

Investigators continue to review the facts of this case.
