Motorcycle Officer Injured in Hawthorne Car Crash

Multi-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 105

Hawthorne, CA (May 3, 2023) – A motorcycle officer suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 105 Freeway Tuesday afternoon, May 2.

According to CBS News, multiple vehicles collided in the eastbound side of the freeway near Prairie Avenue in Hawthorne. Earlier reports indicated the crash involved as many as five motorists, including motorcycle officer who works with LAX Airport Police.

The accident took place at about 2:50 p.m.

Officer Hospitalized After Accident in Hawthorne

When emergency crews arrived, they immediately checked the conditions of all parties found at the scene. The article published online confirmed the officer sustained injuries. Due to the severity of the condition of the victim, paramedics transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment and further evaluation. Personal information on the injured deputy remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

Several factors surrounding the incident have not been discussed thus far. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine exactly how and why the crash happened on the Interstate 105 Freeway in Hawthorne.
