
Semi-Truck Tire Blowout Injures Motorcyclist on I-15
HESPERIA, Calif. (July 26, 2024) — A motorcycle rider was seriously injured Tuesday night in a crash involving a semi-truck on the I-15 freeway in Hesperia.
The traffic accident occurred just after 10:00 p.m. on July 23, 2024, just south of the Main Street off ramp in Hesperia, according to VVNG and the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses called CHP operators and reported the semi-truck blew a tire and the front hood and bumper detached and struck the side of the vehicle.
The motorcyclist was hit by the debris and was ejected from his bike into the roadway.
Paramedics from San Bernardino County Fire Department requested a helicopter to transport the injured rider to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The motorcyclist suffered major road rash and other injuries including fractured ribs, and a liver laceration, however, he is expected to survive.
The California Highway Patrol – Victorville Station is heading up the investigation.
