Motorcycle Rider Killed in Crash in San Diego was Christopher Raffi Garabedian
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 23, 2026) — Christopher Raffi Garabedian, 22, of Sherman Oaks, died Wednesday after suffering traumatic injuries in a motorcycle-versus-vehicle crash on Catalina Boulevard in San Diego.
Garabedian was critically injured at approximately 12:06 p.m. Sept. 16 near Varona Street in the Sunset Cliffs area near Point Loma, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner.
The motorcyclist was traveling on Catalina Boulevard when another driver in a Jeep reportedly crossed into his path and the two vehicles collided.
Emergency personnel responded to the crash and found Garabedian injured at the scene after his Harley-Davidson motorcycle went down. He was transported to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead at approximately 3:42 p.m.
The Medical Examiner listed multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries as the cause of death and determined the manner of death to be accidental. No contributing medical conditions were identified.
Garabedian was born Oct. 30, 2003, and was a student at Point Loma Nazarene University, according to the Medical Examiner’s records.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Witnesses may contact San Diego Police or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
Authorities did not release additional details about the vehicle involved, the circumstances leading up to the collision or whether anyone else was injured.
Garabedian’s next of kin has been notified, according to the Medical Examiner.
