Motorcyclist Injured in US-101 Collision Near Dawson Drive

Ventura County, CA (April 24, 2025) — A traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a white van occurred Thursday morning on southbound U.S. Highway 101 near North Dawson Drive in Camarillo.

The motorcyclist suffered injuries, and authorities closed down traffic lanes during peak commute hours.

The incident was reported at approximately 8:18 a.m. on April 24th, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) dispatch log. Initial reports indicate the motorcycle struck the rear of a white Toyota van. The motorcyclist was found lying in the middle lanes of the freeway, prompting emergency services to respond immediately.

The Ventura County Fire Department and paramedics were dispatched, and a rotation tow was requested for the motorcycle. Platinum Tow was notified and responded to the scene.

The Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway were temporarily blocked due to the crash, causing traffic delays in the area. The white van pulled over to the right-hand shoulder, while the motorcycle obstructed traffic in the center lanes.

Authorities have not yet released the condition of the motorcyclist or the identities of those involved. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Motorists were advised to use caution and seek alternate routes if possible during the cleanup and investigation process.
