WARNER SPRINGS, California (May 10, 2016) — David McDaniel, 59, of Murrieta, riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a German tourist driving a motorhome on the State Route 79, just north of Chihuahua Valley Road, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The fatal crash resulted after the David McDaniel allegedly was traveling fast around a curve before being struck by a northbound RV.
The driver of the motorhome attempted to brake and swerved to avoid the rider but was unable to avoid hitting the man.
McDaniel was thrown from the motorcycle and later died of his injuries.
The 34-year-old driver of the motorhome was questioned by police and was not charged.
Police are investigating the crash and will determine liability.
