Motorcyclist Dean Sutherland Killed in Crash on Hesperia Road in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (June 11, 2025) — Dean J. Sutherland, 56, was killed Tuesday night following a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck, authorities confirmed.

The deadly collision occurred at approximately 10:34 p.m. on June 12th on Hesperia Road, just south of Jasmine Street. First responders from the Victorville Police Department, Victorville Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to the scene.

The collision involved a red BMW R1100RT motorcycle and a gray Ford F-150. The motorcyclist, identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office as 56-year-old Dean J. Sutherland, sustained critical injuries. He was transported to Desert Valley Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No arrests or citations have been reported at this time.

Victorville’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash. As part of the response, authorities closed a section of Hesperia Road between Jasmine Street and Bear Valley Road for several hours overnight.
