KYBURZ, California (July 17, 2016) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision Sunday afternoon on westbound Highway 50, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
CHP first logged the incident when a motorcycle rider was hit by a vehicle at 2:42 p.m., just east of Wrights Lake Road.
In an article by KCRA, CHP said four motorcyclists were traveling on Highway 50 from Wrights Lake Road when one rider failed to make it across in time. That person was then struck by a truck which was pulling a travel trailer.
The victim reportedly suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
