BAKERSFIELD, California (December 4, 2016) – A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by an unlicensed driver at South P Street and Brundage Lane on Saturday afternoon, according to Bakersfield Now.
The collision took place around 1:30 p.m.
As per the article, police said a teenage girl was driving an SUV north on South P Street when she ran a red light.
The SUV then hit a male motorcycle rider who was going through the intersection at the time. The man was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The name of the victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile the teen, who was believed to be unlicensed, in the SUV collided with another SUV with a trailer. The driver of the second vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol when the wreck occurred.
The incident remains under investigation.
