SAN DIEGO, California (July 15, 2016) – A hit-and-run driver left a motorcyclist injured on the Interstate 5 Freeway Friday evening, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
The crash took place on the southbound 5 Freeway at Genesee Avenue.
CHP first logged the incident when a motorcycle rider was struck by a Porsche at 6:47 p.m. A witness said the motorist in the Porsche was swerving all over the road prior to the collision.
As per the report log, paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the wounded motorcyclist. The name and the extent of the injuries sustained by the victim remained unavailable.
Meanwhile, the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling on the slow lane, approaching La Jolla Village.
The Porsche has a plate number of 6JCJ895.
Authorities will gather more information and evidence to locate the hit-and-run motorist.
