Motorcyclist Injured in Collision with Bus on 101 Freeway, Alameda Street
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 7, 2026) — A motorcyclist was reportedly injured Wednesday morning after a collision involving a bus on southbound U.S. 101 Freeway near Alameda Street in Los Angeles, according to information from the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported on Oct. 7th around 6:42 a.m. in the southbound 101 bus and express lanes just south of Alameda Street. A reporting party told authorities that a bus and motorcycle had collided and that the motorcycle rider may have suffered a head injury.
The crash partially blocked a single lane of the bus/express-lane section of the freeway. Responding authorities reported having a visual on the incident and worked to provide access for emergency personnel.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was requested to respond to the scene. By approximately 7:30 a.m., authorities reported that the injured party had been transported by fire personnel to a hospital for medical treatment. The extent of the person’s injuries was not immediately available.
A tow service was also requested for at least one of the vehicles involved in the collision.
Authorities temporarily restricted access from the Alameda Street on-ramp to the express lanes while emergency crews worked at the scene. The California Highway Patrol also notified units that the collision was located in the southbound 101 express lanes just south of Alameda Street.
The circumstances leading to the collision, including whether speed, traffic conditions or another factor contributed to the crash, were not immediately disclosed. The incident remains under investigation.
Drivers traveling through the area were urged to use caution and expect delays while emergency crews cleared the scene.
