Major Injury Traffic Collision on Kumeyaay Highway, El Cajon

EL CAJON, Calif., (November 4, 2026) — An El Cajon crash involving a motorcyclist and a white SUV occurred on Interstate 8 Freeway East near West Main Street, resulting in major injuries early Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported on Nov. 4th at approximately 6:24 a.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, the injured rider was found down on the right-hand side of the road, with the motorcycle lying in the lanes of the highway. The collision resulted in the rider sustaining a fractured right arm and abrasions to both knees. The exact circumstances leading to the collision are still under investigation.

Emergency responders promptly arrived at the scene, with fire department personnel shutting down lane #1 to manage the incident. Authorities have indicated that traffic disruptions occurred as first responders worked to secure the area and attend to the injured rider.
