Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on SR-78, El Camino Real in Oceanside

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (June 6, 2025) — A motorcyclist was injured Friday morning in a crash on westbound State Route 78 near El Camino Real in Oceanside, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at approximately 7:08 a.m. on June 6th and involved a motorcycle and at least one other vehicle. Witnesses told dispatchers that a white vehicle may have cut off the motorcyclist on the right side, causing the rider to flip from the westbound lanes into the center divide. The rider was seen lying on the ground and remained down until emergency services arrived.
CHP officers responded quickly, along with medical personnel. The rider was eventually moved into the slow lane to await treatment. The extent of the injuries was not immediately available, but paramedics were dispatched under emergency protocol.
A black BMW with rear damage was also located nearby on the right shoulder. Officers are working to determine whether it was involved in the crash.
Traffic was impacted as multiple vehicles stopped in the area and debris scattered across lanes. Tow services were called for the motorcycle, and CHP worked to clear the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the California Highway Patrol.
